Rees lands Virgin Media role at DDB

DDB UK has hired Xavier Rees, the former deputy managing director of Targetbase Claydon Heeley, as a managing partner on its Virgin Media account.

Rees will be responsible for managing the business and producing a "creative, compelling and integrated" message across all channels. He reports to Nick Fox, DDB's chief client officer. Targetbase Claydon Heeley has replaced Rees with Tom Charles, its client services director.

At Targetbase Claydon Heeley, Rees ran integrated, direct and digital accounts for the likes of Royal Mail, COI and Universal Music.

He has also been a business director at RMG Connect; the head of client services at Archibald Ingall Stretton; and an account director at Bartle Bogle Hegarty.

Virgin Media shifted its £70 million advertising, digital and direct marketing account into DDB UK in May after a pitch against the incumbents, Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, which pitched with Wunderman, and Rapier.
