Renault Espace extends Channel 4 drama sponsorship

LONDON - Renault Espace has extended its sponsorship of Channel 4's drama output into its fifth year.

The sponsorship deal, negotiated by Carat, will see six US dramas and three new UK dramas sponsored by the marque.

Among the programmes are new series of the US imports 'Nip/Tuck', 'The Sopranos', 'West Wing' and 'NYPD Blue'. UK dramas include 'Omagh', examining the events of the Real IRA atrocity in Northern Ireland, and 'Sex Traffic', a dramatisation of the sex trade industry.

Chris White, marketing manager of Renault, said: "Channel 4's long heritage of broadcasting cutting-edge drama provides the ideal environment to communicate with potential Espace drivers. The breadth of this relationship across 12 months allows regular opportunities for communication throughout 2004."

The sponsorship idents are produced by Publicis and feature locations around the French Riviera with the end-line "Renault Espace: The best seats in the house."
