The opportunities and potential pitfalls facing senior agency
managers involved in mergers and acquisitions will be discussed at a
major conference supported by the IPA in London next month.
Keeping staff motivated, as well as dealing with possible culture
clashes, will be among the subjects examined by leading industry experts
at the International Marketing Communications Investment and Acquisition
Chris Jones, J. Walter Thompson's former worldwide chief executive, John
Perriss, the chairman of Zenith Media Worldwide, and Lorna Tilbian, the
head of media research at West LB Panmure, are included on the speakers
The conference - at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in London on 3 and 4
July - is presented by Results International Consulting, which works
with most of the world's major advertising and marketing services
Jones will talk to delegates about matters that should be considered
prior to an acquisition, while Tilbian will consider what investors in
media companies are looking for.
Meanwhile, Tim Linsay, the European president of Lowe Lintas & Partners,
will discuss the importance of getting the merger aftermath right.
