REVIEW: Channel 4 is scaling back investment

Channel 4 is scaling back investment in programmes as the downturn

in advertising forces it to cut its costs. The channel has denied that

the move might result in a £10 million to £20 million fall

in the budget, which last year was £423 million, but conceded that

the increase would not be as high as the 6 to 7 per cent seen
