REVIEW: CNBC appears before the ITC

The pan-European news channel CNBC has appeared before the ITC to appeal against an initial ruling, and possible fine, for broadcasting Euro Change. The six-part series on the introduction of the euro was made with the help of 300,000 euros of funding from the European Commission. The ITC found the programmes had allowed the Commission to "promote" itself unacceptably in breach of an EU television directive on sponsorship. - The Times.
