The Digital Radio Development Board has admitted that the first mass-market digital radios will not be available until the autumn, despite assurances that they would be on sale by the first half of 2002. The DRDB chairman, Ralph Bernard, who is also the chairman of the radio group GWR, said it was taking longer than initially expected to get manufacturers involved in accelerating the take-up of digital radio.
