Virgin Trains has fallen foul of the Advertising Standards
Authority for the fourth time in less than 12 months, and could face an
OFT investigation if it does not improve its accuracy of information. A
special compliance team is looking at the company's advertising
following an ad that claimed Virgin had the "world's biggest rail offer"
with "50 per cent off all fares" between 5 February and 4 March.
Consumers complained the promotion did not make it clear that it was not
available on all routes and did not apply to railcard holders. The
account is held by Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R. - General release.
