REVIEW: Rupert Murdoch prepares a bid for DirecTV

Rupert Murdoch, the head of News Corporation, is preparing a £4.5 billion bid for DirecTV. If the bid is successful, it will fulfill Murdoch's 20-year ambition of owning a US satellite broadcaster. DirecTV, which has 11 million subscribers, is owned by the company Hughes Electronics, a division of General Motors. - The Observer.
