Richard Pinder is stepping down as chief executive of Crispin Porter & Bogusky London as he seeks a "return to entrepreneurial life".

Richard Pinder to exit Crispin Porter & Bogusky

After three years at the MDC Partners creative agency, Pinder told the agency yesterday he will be leaving in September.

Pinder was appointed as chief executive in 2014 to raise the agency's global profile after CP&B bought The House Worldwide, the open-source agency he set up in 2011.

He said: "While I have loved every minute of working with the incredible team at CP&B, the draw of a return to entrepreneurial life is too strong to ignore. It just feels like the right time."

Pinder’s exit comes three months after chief creative officer Dave Buonaguidi announced he was leaving the agency to launch a start-up. Buonaguidi said at the time he would stay until at least July until a replacement was found.

Before launching The House, Pinder was chief operating officer at Publicis Worldwide for nearly five years after stints as president of Leo Burnett EMEA and regional managing director for Leo Burnett Asia-Pacific.

CP&B had an eventful year of new business in 2016 after resigning its biggest client, Turkish Airlines, but also bringing in ten new accounts including Betstars and Resorts World Genting. It was third in AAR's annual survey for new-business wins in 2016.

Chuck Porter, the co-founder and chairman of CP&B, said: "Richard has been a great asset to CP&B and we’ll miss him. The new-business wins of CP&B London over the last year have put it among the leaders in the UK, and we’re currently planning a transition that will allow us to maintain that great momentum."
