Roger Ward, the managing director of BDH TBWA, is leaving after 15
years with the Manchester-based agency.
Ward, who chaired last year’s IPA Area Ad Effectiveness Awards, had been
on sabbatical since late November following the death of his father and
mother-in-law. He plans to take over his father’s property business and
will be retained by BDH TBWA as a consultant.
’There is no good time to end a long, successful relationship and to
leave a bunch of friends,’ Ward said. ’But if you are going to go, it’s
best to do so on a high note. BDH had a fabulous time in 1999. We have
lots of rising young talent and this should create more space and
opportunity for others.’
BDH’s chief executive, Bryn Butler, said that Ward’s departure was not
unexpected. ’Roger has always wanted to work for himself,’ he said.
’Following the things that have gone on in his private life it was an
obvious time to take stock and change direction.’
