Roose and Partners has hired Ed Will of Leo Burnett to take the new

position of managing partner.

As managing partner, Will will sit on the executive committee alongside

Nick Henry, the managing director, Nick Fordham, the creative director,

Harold Coe, the planning director and the agency’s chairman, Ted

Roose.

Will is to concentrate on Roose and Partners’ Kleenex and Chessington

World of Adventures accounts, and will work on the music video club,

MVC.

He will also be involved in new business.

At Burnetts, Will was the European regional account director on United

Distillers and a management supervisor across Burnetts’ COI

business.

During his five years with the agency, he was involved with its

innovations unit, which created a number of strategy workshops including

Johnnie Walker and Gordon’s.

Roose commented: ’The three of us interviewed Ed and we were very

impressed with him. He talks a lot of sense about advertising and brand

development.

We will be giving him some high-profile accounts to work on, and are

delighted he has decided to join us, particularly when we are moving up

a gear in our development. ’

The agency’s pounds 6 million Kleenex win earlier this year (Campaign,

28 February) prompted Will’s appointment. The agency picked up the

business after a pitch against Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, Simons Palmer

Clemmow Johnson and Banks Hoggins O’Shea. Since winning the task of

overhauling the brand, the agency has expanded its creative department

and wants to make appointments in its media and planning sectors.
