Royal London launches 'quintessentially British' summer of cricket

Cricketers Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Charlotte Edwards and Paul Collingwood have launched the Royal London Gilbert Cup competition, which will see hundreds of Under 11s compete at Lord's.

The first Royal London One Day International starts on Tuesday 9 June.

Emma Hill, Group Head of Brand & Sponsorship, Royal London, said: "Royal London got involved with cricket because we saw some real synergies between our brand values. Royal London is a quintessentially British organisation and I don't think you get many sports that are more British than cricket."

The players also launched a brand new ECB grassroots cricket competition, the Royal London Gilbert Cup.

In the video, Rupert Pennant-Rea, Royal London's Chairman, explains how Under 11s from across the country will compete in an eight-a-side soft ball cricket competition throughout this year's season.

The successful teams will take part in a grand final to be played at Lord’s during the interval of the One-Day Cup final in September.
