Ryan, as president, and Montague, as co-president, chief creative officer, will expand their current duties to oversee all JWT offices in the region.

This appointment follows similar management appointments in the Asia-Pacific, EMEA and LATAM regions.

Ryan and Montague have held similar roles at JWT New York since 2004.

Ryan said: We are thrilled to take this next big step together.  The momentum in New York is palpable.  We have great talent, clients and brands and we look forward to building on that momentum across the region.

Montague said: We’re a good team.  We’re having fun and look forward to seeing where we can take JWT in the future.  Times may be challenging in the short term but long-term the future looks very bright to us.

Bob Jeffrey, the global chief executive of JWT, who promoted the pair, said: Ryan and Montague are ambitious and future-forward, yet they have a strong appreciation and understanding of JWT's heritage – a legacy built on innovation and big brand ideas.

In this way, they know how to bring the best of JWT’s past into the future. I look forward to watching them continue to build the momentum for JWT across North America.
