Lynam has been hired by Saatchi and Saatchi to feature in commercials
for the reformulated Rightguard brand. Sources familiar with the script
say the presenter, known for his smooth-talking style, will appear as a
’cool, dry character’.
A spokesperson for Saatchis refused to comment on reports that the
agency was using Lynam for the brand, but confirmed that a new TV
commercial was due to break in just over a week.
The film was directed by John Lloyd, the former producer of the TV
comedy, Blackadder, through the production company, Limelight.
Lynam has had cameo roles on television before for Walker’s crisps and
the Daily Express, but has never starred in his own TV ad. He has also
featured in press advertising for whisky as a ’Jamieson’s smoothie’.
