OK, so it didn’t happen this week, but we liked this sale so much

we had to give it the recognition it deserved.



Sick of the ’po-faced political rhetoric’ surrounding the run-up to the

London mayoral elections, chatsite ZooChat.co.uk decided to launch its

offering with the help of the hot air being spouted by the

candidates.



With a campaign planned by Rocket and Outdoor Connection, ZooChat

wrapped an open-topped double-decker bus in a specially created ’blah,

blah, blah’ livery, and stalked the Ken Livingstone campaign bus around

London.



Two people with microphones and a PA system ensured that ’blah, blah,

blah’ was shouted across London all day, and 25 chanting people carrying

placards were hired to act as protesters.



Speed was of the essence, so Rocket and Outdoor Connection managed to

organise the campaign through Freight Media in just two days.



Ruth Thomson, account planner at Outdoor Connection, said the stunt was

’a great example of tactical advertising and highlighted the flexibility

of the medium’. Danny Stickney, the Rocket planner/buyer, simply added

’blah, blah, blah, blah, blah’.
