Scoot awards £3m account

- Scoot, the consumer information service formerly known as Freepages, has appointed BMP DDB and BMP Optimum to handle its estimated £3 million full service account following a competitive pitch.

- Scoot, the consumer information service formerly known as Freepages, has appointed BMP DDB and BMP Optimum to handle its estimated £3 million full service account following a competitive pitch.

BMP won the business following a three way presentation against Lowe Howard-Spink and HHCL+Partners. The business was previously handled by Wolff Olins and Carat. neither of which is understood to have taken part in the review process.

The review came about following the arrival of Richard Thackray as marketing director at Scoot earlier this year.

Wolff Olins won the business pitching alongside World Writers last October when it was appointed with the task of rebranding Freepages as Scoot.

Scoot is an interactive information service that gives up to date information on businesses, services and cinemas in the UK, 24 hours a day throughout the year. It competes directly with the BT owned Yellow Pages and Yell information services.

Scoot is available free via an 0800 number and the web, where its site can be located at www.scoot.co.uk.
