C. R. Smith, Scotland’s top double-glazing company and the sponsor
of the Celtic football team, has appointed the Faulds breakaway shop,
the Union, to handle its account.
The pounds 1.2 million business, which has been handled by the Morgan
Partnership in Glasgow for the past eight years, was awarded to the
Union without a pitch. No decision has yet been made on the media
account, which is held by CIA Morgan.
Ian McAteer, the managing director of the Union, which is based in
Edinburgh, said: ’C. R. Smith has been in business for 25 years, but its
management team is very forward thinking.’
C. R. Smith claims to have installed double glazing in one out of every
six houses in Scotland. The company was built up by the Scot, Gerard
Eadie, now a millionaire.
The Union was launched last year by McAteer with Simon Scott and Andrew
Lindsay, the joint creative directors from Faulds Advertising.
