Scottish poet writes Burns Night ode to Laphroaig whisky

We all like to think we've got a way with words after a whisky, but Scottish poet Elvis McGonagall shows us how it's done with a Burns night ode to Laphroaig.

Scottish poet writes Burns Night ode to Laphroaig whisky

While savouring a glass of the single malt next to a hearth, McGonagall declaims lines such as:

A richt rambusteous "amber bead"
No yin fur faintheart or weak-kneed
A muckle skelp aboot the heid
Pure radge that Laphroaig

The poem, in the style of Robert Burns’ ode to a haggis, has been timed to coincide with Burns Night, which is celebrated on or around the eighteenth century poet’s birthday, 25 January.
