Seagram awards $50m account to Mediacom

- Seagram America has awarded MediaCom, the Grey Advertising media network, a $50 million (£30 million) media planning and buying assignment following a competitive pitch.

- Seagram America has awarded MediaCom, the Grey Advertising media network, a $50 million (£30 million) media planning and buying assignment following a competitive pitch.

It is understood that MediaCom shot it out against a number of other agencies including TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York.

MediaCom will take on media planning and buying for Seagram brands including Chivas Regal; Crown Royal; Captain Morgan; Martell Cognac; V.O. Canadian Whiskey; Glenlivet; Godiva liqueur; Meyer's Rum and Seagram's 7 Crown.

TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York, which was the incumbent agency on Seagram's Gin and Chivas, retains the Absolut vodka planning and buying as well as the creative work.
