Sky has secured exclusive rights to broadcast James Corden's popular late-night US chat show in the UK and Ireland.

The Late Late Show with James Corden, whose "Carpool Karaoke" skits featuring celebrities have racked up over a billion views on YouTube, will air on Sky 1 from 19 July.

Sky 1 will also broadcast "The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special" on 19 July, featuring the British presenter’s favourite segments with One Direction, Adele and Mariah Carey.

The weeknight chat show will be available to Sky TV and Now TV entertainment pass customers, with broadcasts shown one day after it is aired in the US on CBS. 

Since the show’s US launch in March 2015, its official YouTube channel has amassed over one billion total views, with six million subscribers.

Gary Davey, the managing director of Sky Content, said: "The Late Late Show has become a global cultural phenomenon and the UK and Ireland audience has delighted in James’ runaway stateside success.

"There is a huge appetite from UK and Irish fans to enjoy the antics of The Late Late Show first hand and we are thrilled to exclusively bring the show direct to our customers."
