Soutar quits as US Maxim editor to join IPC

- Mike Soutar, the former editor of FHM who last year went to edit Dennis Publishing's US version of Maxim, is to return to the UK to become managing director of IPC Music & Sport.

Soutar replaces Andrew McDuff who left IPC recently without a job to go to. McDuff was one of a number of high profile departures from IPC, which also recently saw Loaded editor, Tim Southwell, exit for a dotcom start-up.

In the US Dennis has named Keith Blanchard, group creative director for Dennis, as Soutar's successor. Soutar originally joined the US's second biggest selling men's title to replace Mark Golin, who left to edit the now-defunct Details magazine.
