- Mirror Group, City Index and the Press Association have joined forces to launch the first live Internet betting service in the UK in time for the World Cup.

BETonline, a complete one-stop betting facility, can be accessed exclusively at www.sporting-life.com, the joint Website venture of the Press Association and Mirror Group.

To introduce the live Internet betting service they have teamed up with Britain's biggest financial betting firm, City Index, which will be running an extensive range of fixed odds bets throughout the World Cup tournament.

The site provides all the information needed to make betting decisions, including statistics, prices and details of past performances.

During the World Cup, there will be comprehensive coverage of the tournament with the latest news, fast results, features and team and player statistics.

From Monday 8 June, visitors to the site will be able to make a wide variety of live bets with City Index Sport. Massive public interest in the Scotland v Brazil match is expected to stimulate online betting activity during the run up to the first round match on 10 June.
