Springer & Jacoby has stepped up the search for a UK managing

director as the London agency prepares for a European roll-out of the

German-based network.

Wulf-Peter Kemper, the managing director of Springer & Jacoby in London,

will return to Germany as soon as a replacement is found. The

recruitment process is concentrated on finding a local candidate to fill

the role.

The move comes in the midst of speculation about the sale of a 20 per

cent stake in Germany’s biggest agency to Omnicom, the number one global

communications group.

Springer & Jacoby’s main client in Germany is Mercedes-Benz. The London

office works on brochures for the car maker but the main ad account for

the UK is held by Partners BDDH.

Stefan Schmidt and Kurt Georg, Springer & Jacoby’s joint creative

directors in London, will remain in this country to work with the new

managing director.

Springer & Jacoby is planning to set up a number of advertising agencies

in all the major capitals of Europe, as well as some in the US.

The London office was the agency’s first base outside its German

homeland.

Branches in Spain and Italy are planned for later this year.

The agency’s UK client list includes jobsite.com, for which Springer &

Jacoby has produced a press and poster campaign.
