Stephen King goes live on Observer Website

- Stephen King, the world's biggest selling author, is to appear in a live Observer newspaper event at London's Royal Festival Hall on 25 August.

Television presenter Muriel Gray will chair the interview, during which King will read from his work and answer questions from the audience.

The event will be broadcast live on the Observer's Website, located at www.observer.co.uk/events/king.

A competition to win tickets to the event can be entered on the website, and the full transcript and soundclips will be available the following day.

Visitors the site can also email questions in advance, a selection of which will be put to King during the evening.

Stephen King has not appeared publicly in the UK for 25 years, and the event will mark the publication of his new book, Bag of Bones, published by Hodder and Stoughton on Thursday 20th August.
