StepStone sponsors sports coverage on Channel 4 for pounds 4m

StepStone, the online career and recruitment company, has signed a pounds 4 million deal with Channel 4 to sponsor all its sports coverage.

StepStone, the online career and recruitment company, has signed a

pounds 4 million deal with Channel 4 to sponsor all its sports

coverage.

The year-long deal, which begins in May, will put the StepStone brand on

ad-break bumpers, on-air credits, sports programme competitions, the

Channel 4 website and affiliated magazines.

Channel 4 Research estimates that Sport on 4, its largest sponsorship

vehicle, will reach 99 per cent of British men at an average of six or

seven times within the year. The deal covers the channel’s biggest

sporting draws including cricket, horseracing, Italian football, motor

sports and the Tour de France, as well as niche pursuits such as

snowboarding, mountain bike racing and extreme sports.

The deal was secured by Ian Clark, media director at StepStone’s media

agency Booth Lockett Makin.

Clark said: ’Securing Channel 4’s biggest sponsorship will elevate

StepStone out of the mass of competitive activity. BLM will be working

with Channel 4 to explore complementary avenues to take the on-screen

credits further.’

Giles Clark, StepStone’s CEO, said: ’Channel 4 is the terrestrial

channel with the highest proportion of internet users among its viewers.

This deal will distinguish StepStone in the online recruitment market.’
