TalkSport is dispatching fake detector vans to hand out cash

’fines’ as part of a promotional stunt to woo listeners.

The vans will drive around the country looking for cars displaying

limited-edition TalkSport car stickers.

If spotted and approached by detector-van teams, the owners of the car

stickers instantly win pounds 100. If the driver is caught while

listening to TalkSport, the cash prize is doubled to pounds 200.

The stickers are available in Elf petrol stations in England, Wales and

Ireland and in Texaco stations in Scotland.

The detector van campaign was launched on 2 March at the BBC Television

Centre in White City, London.

TalkSport had intended to kick off the stunt by delivering stickers to

the BBC chairman Christopher Bland and the incoming director-general

Greg Dyke.

However, neither of the intended targets got their stickers as guards

prevented the TalkSport team from entering Television Centre.
