TBWA has been awarded the dollars 10 million European business of
the US golf specialist, Callaway Golf.
The account will be handled by TBWA Simons Palmer, following a joint
pitch by the London agency and its US sister, TBWA Chiat/Day. It is not
known if the incumbent agency, Dailey & Associates, Los Angeles, took
part in the pitch.
TBWA’s pitch was handled by the two respective agency presidents,
Alasdair Ritchie in London and Bob Kuperman in the US.
The appointment of TBWA in Europe marks the first time that Callaway, a
leading golfing brand, has retained a European agency.
Creative work will be gen-erated in London - with TBWA Chiat/Day taking
on a liaison role. The work will run in golfing magazines, national
press and on satellite and terrestrial television.
Fred Port, the president of Callaway, said: ’TBWA’s creative excellence,
its depth of talent and understanding exceeded our expectations.’
