TBWA wins $10m European Callaway Golf business

The business will be handled by TBWA Simons Palmer, following a joint pitch by the London agency and its US sister TBWA/Chiat Day. The two pitched against four unnamed agencies. It is not known if incumbent agency Dailey & Associates, Los Angeles, took part in the pitch.

On behalf of TBWA, the pitch was handled personally by the two respective TBWA agency presidents, Alasdair Ritchie from London and Bob Kuperman from the US.

The appointment of TBWA in Europe marks the first time Callaway, which is one of the world's premier golfing brands, has retained a European agency.

All creative work will be generated in London with TBWA/Chiat Day fulfilling a liaison role. The work will run in golfing magazines, national press and on satellite and terrestrial television.

Fred Port, president of Callaway Golf International, said: "TBWA's creative excellence, its depth of talent and understanding of how to market Callaway Golf's premium golf club products in Europe exceeded our expectations and aligned well with our objectives."
