The move will enable consumers to book 20-minute beauty consultations with beauty, hair and make-up bloggers via video link. It comes as Tesco looks to ramp up customer loyalty and engagement.

As well as helping the brand reach a younger, more digitally savvy audience, it is also a way for the retailer to promote its beauty products and help consumers "shop the category". After each session consumers will receive product advice and recommendations.

The partnership, developed by Tesco’s digital agency Zone, is now open with consumers able to book the sessions via the Tesco Beauty Hub Monday-Friday, 10am – 7pm.

"The launch of beauty hangouts as part of our marketing strategy will continue to drive the growth of the beauty category within Tesco," a spokesman for the brand said.

"The Online Beauty Consultations allow us to offer a personal, expert service outside the store environment."
