ThinkNatural develops offline presence with Superdrug

Internet retailer ThinkNatural.com is to drop the clicks in favour of the bricks when it launches a range of branded health products in Superdrug stores this autumn.

LONDON (Brand Republic) - Internet retailer ThinkNatural.com is to drop the clicks in favour of the bricks when it launches a range of branded health products in Superdrug stores this autumn.

A range of 25 products will be on sale initially, but ThinkNatural chief executive Carol Dukes said the deal may be extended with Superdrug to develop “stores within stores”. There are no plans for standalone stores.

The move comes as part of ThinkNatural’s strategy to develop partnerships offline, as well as expanding its online service. Earlier this year, it launched a mail-order catalogue.

Dukes said it was crucial for ThinkNatural, which recently dropped its dotcom suffix, to concentrate on its offline strategy, and has stepped up on this since the stock market’s dotcom fall.

However, she maintained the internet was the best way to convey information to consumers.

“Consumers were tempted to buy products online because they had access to lots of information. That’s why I chose the internet as the primary channel,” Dukes said.

Superdrug owner, retail group Kingfisher, contributed to the £10m raised during ThinkNatural’s latest round of funding completed in May.
