Tim North moves to Media Direction to manage expansion

Leagas Delaney has promoted Tim North to the new position of managing director of its online communications arm, Media Direction - a move that coincides with the agency’s win of the Mothercare new-media account.

Leagas Delaney has promoted Tim North to the new position of

managing director of its online communications arm, Media Direction - a

move that coincides with the agency’s win of the Mothercare new-media

account.



North moves from the advertising agency, where he worked for four years,

latterly as board account director on Hyundai, Fanta and the Health

Education Authority. As yet, no one has been appointed to replace

him.



Until now, Media Direction has been run by its co-directors, James

Waite, Paul Griere and Jaki Porter, but North has been brought in to

manage the business’s expansion.



North said: ’Media Direction has got to the size where it needs somebody

with my background to develop it further. I have to make sure it grows

in the same way as Leagas Delaney, which is all about strategy and

strong work.’



Bruce Haines, chief executive of the Leagas Delaney Group, said: ’The

Media Direction team has done a fantastic job in growing the company to

the point where it needs new management. It’s always great to promote

one of our own.’ He added: ’The internet, and all the disciplines that

go with it, is a crucial area for us.’



The company won the brief to create Mothercare’s website following a

three-way pitch. Media Direction’s other clients include Adidas, Patek

Philippe and Harrods, for which it launched a website on 14 February.
