Initiative Media has filled the newly created role of head of

European media after drafting in the head of its Hungarian operation,

Tim Scott-Hunter.

He joined the agency this week and, from his base in London, will report

to Roy Jeans, the managing director of the UK operation.

Scott-Hunter’s main role will be to oversee pan-European accounts, which

Jeans described as ’the next stage of Initiative’s growth’. New business

will also be one of his responsibilities.

Before heading the Hungarian office, Scott-Hunter was the national media

director of Ogilvy & Mather in Australia. Previously he was a planning

director at Young & Rubicam Europe.

Jeans said: ’Tim has a lot of experience on the receiving end of our

pan-European work and knows what is needed to take the business

forward.

It’s a recognition of London’s role in pan-European accounts.’

Scott-Hunter said: ’I had previously shied away from international roles

because international media divisions used to be marginalised. Now their

importance has increased. I expect to be spending 30-40 per cent of my

time going for pan-European business. There are lots of new-business

opportunities.’

Meanwhile, Initiative’s global chairman, Marie Jose Forissier, was in

London this week going through a shortlist of candidates for the role of

European chief executive. The job is partly a replacement for Phil

Georgiadis, who quit earlier this year to become managing partner with

Walker Media.
