He will be tasked with driving ad revenue and growth across AOL UK’s content, video, and programmatic platforms. This includes AOL, The Huffington Post UK, Engadget and TechCrunch.

Hosking will also help to locally roll out One by AOL, a cross-screen programmatic advertising platform optimising campaigns from Web to TV.

At Turn, Hosking sold a programmatic and data-led marketing platform to agencies and brands.

He said: "I’m delighted to be joining AOL, a company that has transformed itself over the past few years into a leading player in content, video and programmatic.

"AOL has a unique place in market with its rich mix of content and advertising platforms. I’m looking forward to joining and leading an award winning sales team."

Hosking will join AOL in June and will report to Hamish Nicklin, the managing director at AOL UK.

Graham Moysey, the head of international at AOL, said: "AOL is at the intersection of culture and code, a company built on great content and technology platforms.

"Our business is also built on great talent, training and mentoring, so Tom’s strong mix of media, programmatic and leadership skills will be a fantastic addition to our established sales team."
