Tony McTear quits Fallon as redundancies loom

LONDON - Fallon's Tony McTear is leaving the agency, as it gears up to make ten redundancies.

The former joint creative director at TBWA\London is understood to have agreed his departure by mutual consent. It is not yet known whether he has a job to go to.

His exit coincides with an announcement made today at the agency that it was making ten roles redundant.

The affected staff, which span all departments, are now on a two-week consultancy period.

McTear's departure is not part of that process.

He joined the agency in 2007 from TBWA\London, and has since been responsible for a number of Fallon's award winning campaigns including the Orange ‘Wednesdays Are The New Fridays' campaign that scooped a gold at Campaign's media awards last year.

His recent work also includes last year's launch campaign for Cadbury's Caramel Nibbles, which saw the return of the Caramel Dairy Milk bunny.

In 2004, during his tenure at TBWA, McTear won the Grand Prix in Cannes with "mountain" for Sony PlayStation 2.
