Shaun Moran, the former creative director of Lida, is joining The Communications Agency as its executive creative director. Moran will oversee TCA's 25-strong creative department, presiding over a client list that includes American Express, Argos, Warner Bros and The Economist. (Campaign)

Phil Georgiadis, the chairman of Walker Media, has been named the new president of Nabs, while Ian Pearman, the chief executive of Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, becomes its new chairman. The pair replace Stephen Woodford and Nick Bampton respectively, and will hold the positions for two years. (Campaign)

Matt Lee and Pete Heyes, the creative duo at The Red Brick Road responsible for campaigns for Magners and Thinkbox, are leaving the agency to rejoin DDB UK as creative directors. (Campaign)

Harold Sogard is leaving Goodby, Silverstein & Partners to join Publicis & Hal Riney, the San Francisco-based agency, in a newly created role as chairman, effective 19 September. Sogard will report to Susan Gianinno, chairman and chief executive of Publicis Worldwide in the US. (Campaign)


Steve Platt, the head of trading for Aegis Media UK, is stepping down and will be replaced by Azon Howie. Howie, the head of broadcast at Aegis, has been promoted as part of a restructure of Aegis Media's trading operations. Platt will continue in a consultant role. (Campaign)

Neil Johnston, the joint head of buying at OMD, is to leave the agency to take up a role at Group M in Ireland. Johnston, who has been at the Omnicom-owned agency for 16 years, will become Group M's head of trading. Chris Amor, OMD's other joint buying head, is expected to oversee buying at the agency in the immediate future. (Media Week)

Vevo, the online music video platform, has appointed former Starcom MediaVest Group digital chief Nic Jones as its international senior vice-president to launch the service globally. Jones was chief digital officer at Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) EMEA, but left the agency a few months ago. Prior to this role, Jones was managing director of digital at SMG Asia Pacific. Dominic Carter has been announced as the new commercial director at News International, following a restructure of the commercial team, with Abba Newbery taking the role of director of advertising strategy. The appointments are just two of numerous changes to the team at News Int. (Media Week)

IPC Media has boosted its digital department by promoting Tara Hamilton-Whitaker to the role of digital development director and Cathy Ma to head of social media. Hamilton-Whitaker, who was digital programme director for IPC Digital, will oversee technology development, social media product development and digital capital investment, reporting to digital director Neil Robinson. LG Mobile is seeking a new head of marketing for UK and Ireland after the departure of Alex Windle, after just one year in the job. The news comes after Jim Michel left the role of UK general manager last month. (Marketing)

HMV has poached Asda digital chief Mark Hodgkinson for the role of marketing and e-commerce director. Hodgkinson spent two and a half years as digital and financial services director at Asda, where he oversaw, Asda Direct and Asda Financial Services. (Marketing)

Google has appointed Indy Saha to the recently created role of director of strategy, Google Creative Lab for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Saha will take up the role in November, after leaving TBWA’s offshoot agency Being, which is positioned as a ‘brand behavioural agency’. (Marketing)
