Chris Whitson, the former planning partner and co-founder of VCCP me, is joining WPP's Team News as its chief strategy officer. (Campaign)

Charlie McGee, the former managing director of Carat Digital, has joined Apple to lead its European ad sales. (Campaign)

David Jones, the British-born chief executive of Havas and the chief executive of Havas Worldwide, is stepping down from both roles. He is being replaced by Yannick Bolloré, the son of Havas’ main shareholder, Vincent Bolloré, in the former role, while responsibility for running the Havas Worldwide network will be assumed by Andrew Bennett, the co-president of Havas Worldwide. Bennett will report to Bolloré. (Campaign)

Jon Wilkins, a co-founder of global creative agency Naked, is to join Karmarama as its executive chairman, replacing Nicola Mendelsohn who left the agency last year. (Campaign)

Caroline Pay is returning to Bartle Bogle Hegarty for the newly created role of managing partner, head of creative development. (Campaign)


Dixons Retail has chosen former O2 marketer Gary Booker to become the electronics retailer's next chief marketing officer, overseeing its brands in UK and Ireland. (Marketing)

Digital games developer Gamesys has appointed O2 marketer Paul Troy as its first global director of brands, as it seeks to develop an international marketing strategy for its range of games. (Marketing)

Kia Motors has appointed Volkswagen marketer Mark Hopkins to the position of UK marketing director, as it looks to maintain its recent growth. (Marketing)


Guy Zitter, the managing director of Daily Mail & General Trust's Mail Newspapers, is set to walk away from the publishing group at the end of March 2014. (Media Week)

VivaKi, Publicis Groupe's investment arm, has enlarged the role of Chris Locke, the UK trading director of Starcom MediaVest Group, making him the most senior trading executive across ZenithOptimedia and SMG. (Media Week)

Scott Monks, the executive director of Box Television, has left the Bauer Media and Channel 4-backed broadcaster after 17 years. (Media Week)


Captive Minds, which handled PR for the recent Walking With The Wounded South Pole expedition, has appointed Julian Staveley as special projects director. (PR Week)

TheCityUK, a mouthpiece for UK financial services, has appointed Nicky Edwards as director of policy and public affairs. (PR Week)

Just Health Communications has hired medical education consultant at InVentiv Health Kirsty Mearns as MD to lead its five-strong senior management team. (PR Week)

Brent Council has parted with comms head Cheryl Curling amid a major rethink of its approach to engaging with the public. (PR Week)

The Red Consultancy has appointed directors Rebecca Fergusson and Sophie Taylor-Roberts as joint managing directors of its healthcare practice. (PR Week)

David Hill is to succeed George Eykyn in the top comms role at the Department for Communities and Local Government, with political journalist Kirsty Buchanan coming in as his deputy. (PR Week)

Carnival Corporation-owned holiday company Princess Cruises UK has appointed David Sanders as head of media and public relations. (PR Week)
