Trebor Bassett has appointed Mother to create a campaign for one of
its flagship brands, Extra Strong Mints.
The appointment ends WCRS’s monopoly of Trebor Bassett’s advertising
roster. Mother will work with Motive, Trebor Bassett’s sole media
agency, on the development of the new campaign.
Louise Cooke, marketing controller of Trebor Bassett, said: ’We want to
expand our agency base to put a renewed focus on our brands. Mother was
recommended as having an innovative approach.’
It is less than two years since WCRS relaunched Extra Strong Mints,
backed by a pounds 2 million spend.
Robert Saville, founder of Mother, said: ’I remember the Trebor Extra
Strong campaign from when I was a kid. I’ve hardly been aware of it
We’ve now got the job of dusting it down and producing communications
that renew its fame.’
WCRS remains the agency of record for Jelly Babies, Liquorice Allsorts,
Maynards Original Wine Gums, Fruitang and Softmints.
