True North cleans up at Fresh Awards

A print campaign promoting an art exhibition at Manchester's Imperial War Museum North was the big winner of this year's Fresh Awards for regional agencies.

The campaign, produced by True North, carried off a total of seven gold awards at the ceremony, the culmination of a series of regional heats.

The work struck gold in the Outdoor, Press ad, Regional ad, Art Direction and Typography categories. "It hits the right note and you just know it works," Bil Bungay, the former TBWA\London deputy creative director and the chairman of the judges, said.

Other gold winners included the Different agency's work for Sunderland NHS showing cigarette smoke in the shape of a baby in its mother's womb.

Universal McCann in Manchester was named as Fresh's Media Agency of the Year. Its work for Peugeot won Best Use of Planning and Research while its Sydol campaign won Best-Targeted Campaign.

Feather Brooksbank's Fresh Thinking initiative for Peroni won the Grand Prix and was chosen as Best Innovative and Creative Campaign.
