Francesca Newland finds Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO’s ad for BT very
irritating: ’It’s not the concept of using ET that grates, it’s this
execution which seems hurriedly glued together. The ET puppet looks
weird, its voice is even worse. The Millennium Dome seems to have been
chucked in for no reason, and the cute little boy can’t act.
If this campaign’s going to be appearing on our screens as much as Bob
Hoskins did, I can only hope it improves.’
