TNT and will broadcast Turner Classic Movies in its place.

TCM will launch on the analogue cable channel Astra 1C on 30 June. The

sales department is taking spot advertising on the movie channel for the

first time. Previously, the company had only sold sponsorship

packages.

Turner has also launched a channel called Boomerang, which will showcase

classic cartoons such as Top Cat and Wacky Races.

Boomerang will run from 6am until midnight seven days a week from 27

May, and will be available alongside Cartoon Network and Cartoon Network

Plus in all Sky digital homes. It will target children between the ages

of two and nine.

Dee Forbes, sales director at Cartoon Network, said: ’Boomerang and TCM

will offer advertisers creative and tightly targeted activities in the

digital environment.’
