United, which owns Express Newspapers as well as several ITV franchise holders and the sales house TSMS, is in advanced talks with Barbour, according to reports in the Financial Times today. An announcement is thought to be imminent.

Barbour began talks with a number of companies in January and as well as United it is also in discussions with one other party.
