The newspaper landed the deal, which includes an eight-month display advertising campaign, after winning a pitch against other news-paper groups.
Vauxhall and its agencies, Initiative and Lowe London, selected The Independent after a presentation from its creative solutions team.
The eight-month ad campaign, by Lowe, starts on 21 May. There will also be a tactical campaign using editorial properties across weekend supplements and flip-fronted cover features on four Independent supplements.
The Independent will also provide online support for the campaign and research and tracking of its effectiveness.
