W&K, AMV and Saatchi & Saatchi collect golds at Kinsale Sharks

The world's smallest stop-motion animation, by Aardman Animations for Wieden + Kennedy's Nokia client, helped UK agencies to a respectable haul at the Kinsale Shark awards.

The 49th awards were held last weekend in Kinsale in the Irish Republic, with judges receiving work from over 24 countries.

The animation, 'Dot', picked up golds in the best animation in TV craft and best online film categories, as well as a silver in telecoms and a bronze in best film.

AMV BBDO won two digital craft golds for its Nightjar app for Wrigley, a gold for its Metropolitan Police radio campaign and several silvers.

Other UK agencies picking up golds included CHI & Partners for its Sunday Times Rich List press campaign and Saatchi & Saatchi for its 'Welcome Back' film for T-Mobile.

The Grand Prix went to Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam's 'Write the future' campaign for Nike.

The agency of the year was BBDO New York and the network of the year was BBDO.

The big winner among the Irish agencies was Publicis QMP.

Chacho Puebla, one of the jury members and executive creative director and partner of Lola / Lowe Madrid, said: "The work was the finest we've seen in the world this year."
