Nick Gill, Wieden & Kennedy's launch creative director, has quit the agency after just seven months in the job to join Bartle Bogle Hegarty.

Gill joined the US agency's UK start-up in March to partner the W&K's joint worldwide creative director, Susan Hoffman.

Previously, a senior copywriter at BMP DDB for 13 years, Gill was best known for participation on the acclaimed Volkswagen Passat campaign in 1997. He was also the sole creative behind the Schweppes "loud shirt" poster which scooped a silver Campaign poster award in 1996 and he won a silver D&AD pencil and a Cannes gold in 1991 for the Bachelors Mushy Peas "Ode to a Pea" work, which he created with his then partner, Joanna Wenley.

W&K says it has no plans at the moment to replace Gill, althoughTony Barry, who was hired soon after Gill to work alongside the two creative directors, is tipped for the job.

Mike Perry, Wieden & Kennedy's managing director in London, said; "It's an amicable parting and we wish Nick all the best. We have various people at W&K working on different projects and we're very pleased with Tony Barry. This is an incredibly different environment to anywhere else so obviously some people just aren't going to be able to fit in."
