- The troubled publishing company, Wagadon, has promoted Johnny Davis to editor of style magazine The Face, following the sudden departure last week of Adam Higginbotham.

Davis, who is promoted from his current position of associate editor, has been at The Face since 1995. He takes over from Higginbotham who leaves the magazine after less than a year, having joined Wagadon in August from the now defunct Emap film title, Neon.

The Face saw its circulation plummet by 30 per cent to 71,381 in the most recent set of magazine ABCs, a fate also suffered by sister title, Arena, which fell to 60,494.

The ABC performance capped a bad year for Wagadon which launched and closed Deluxe, its 'thinking man's' magazine, after only eight issues, having failed to hit its target circulation figure of 80,000.
