Walker Media has recruited an international director to work on the

British Airways contract and its burgeoning dotcom portfolio.

Paul Alexander, regional media director at Starcom, will replace Paul

Bay who defected to Levis Strauss last month (Media Business, 31

January).

Alexander has handled campaigns for Procter & Gamble, Kellogg, Nokia,

the Microsoft Network and Sidewalk.com since he joined Starcom in

1996.

He will run an international team of four and report directly to

managing partner Christine Walker.

Alexander will oversee international media for British Airways. He will

also work for Walker Media’s dotcom clients, an increasing number of

which want to expand overseas. Walker Media’s internet clients include

Excite, Freeserve and IPC tx’s Unmissable TV.

Walker said: ’Paul is joining us at a time when more and more of our

clients are looking outside the UK for further growth. He has the

expertise and discipline needed to effectively manage and plan for large

international clients. He also has the youth and enthusiasm to work at

the pace required by the emerging dotcom brands.’
