Walker Media wins £4m business to promote US tourism

LONDON -Walker Media has won the UK media brief to promote the USA as a tourist destination, estimated to be worth £4m.

The agency was handed the contract by the US Department of Commerce, which for the first time in a decade is attempting to market America as a tourist destination.

The move follows a drop in the number of tourists visiting the country following the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington on September 11, 2001.

Walker Media won the brief following a pitch against undisclosed agencies. It will work with M&C Saatchi on the account.
