Web service helps ad agencies choose commercials directors

Developed by Media Intelligence Services, the service makes directors' credits and showreels available on the web in a format that is searchable by a number of criteria.

The service, first launched in the US 18 months ago, will be able to find a director by name, part name, nationality or awards won. A click on a director's name will display additional information about the director and his or her production company and, if required, their reel, which can be downloaded or watched instantly via high speed connection.

It will also allow users to find an ad by eight different categories: product, category of product, title, advertising agency, awards received, client, producer and style.

Meanwhile, agencies seeking a production company in a part of Europe can find one purely on the criteria of location.

It will make showreels of UK directors available to the rest of the world for first time and it will eventually give UK agencies access to European talent, once the service rolls out across the continent later this year.

The MIS service is due to launch on 20 and 21 May and will be located at www.misx.com.
