The Week: 180 enlists football stars for new Adidas virals

180 has launched a series of new virals for Adidas featuring top footballers including Michael Ballack, Steven Gerrard and Arjen Robben.

One of the first to be released is a 20-second spot featuring the Chelsea midfielder Ballack, in which he is undertaking target practice with Mark Whitehead, a senior digital manager at Adidas, who is holding a hoop. However, the German international deliberately misses his target, lashing the ball straight into Whitehead's groin.

In another spot, titled "magic boot", Real Madrid's Dutch winger Robben is sitting alone in a dressing room, when all the components of the new Adidas F50 Tunit football boot enter the room and form the boot at his feet.

In a third, Liverpool's Gerrard and Xabi Alonso go clay pigeon shooting with a football.

180 will launch up to 25 of the virals throughout the current football season. To view the ads, visit www.brandrepublic.com/campaign.
