The Week: Advertising News - Beta updates 'sexist' poster

Beta, the Garry Lace and Robert Campbell-run agency behind the controversial "career women make bad mothers" poster for the Outdoor Advertising Association, has created a new execution in the campaign in an effort to help "set the record straight".

The new ad carries the strapline: "Sexist adverts damage us all." Beta faced criticism from Mumsnet, the online community for parents, after releasing the "career women" ad, which was described as "absurdly over-generalised". Following the backlash, the OAA took the decision to withdraw the ad, and Beta has apologised for any offence that it has caused. Beta is now hoping the OAA will agree to run the new poster on "a significant number" of digital sites across the UK.
